Creamy, Decadent Vegan Hot Chocolate

Total Cook Time: 5-10 min     Serves: 2


2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 oz dark chocolate, finely grated

1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tbsp dairy-free semisweet chocolate chips

3 tsp raw sugar


full-fat coconut milk to make whipped cream

a splash or vanilla or peppermint extract

1 tsp cinnamon powder



1.) In a small saucepan, heat almond milk over medium heat.

2.) When the milk begins to simmer lightly, add in the dark chocolate shavings and chocolate chips. Continue whisking until thoroughly melted.

3.) Add cocoa powder, sugar, splash of extract, and cinnamon; whisk until incorporated.

4.) Serve with coconut whipped cream, some chocolate shavings and sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Enjoy!

Note: I included someone else’s whipped cream recipe because I personally don’t like coconut milk and hence, don’t have my own recipe for it.
